The prescribed qualification for Class XII / Graduate / Diploma holders should be from a recognized Board/ University/Institute as a regular full-time course in the relevant trade/discipline with minimum 50% marks (45% for SC/ST and PwBD category candidates for the seats reserved for them) in aggregate.

Age Limit

1For General / EWS candidates, the minimum age will be 18 years and maximum age 24 years as on 31.10.2019.  Relaxation of upper age limit to SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/PwBD candidates as per Govt. Rules.

2. The mark sheet/certificate issued by the Board of Secondary Education for passing the matriculation (tenth standard) examination will be the only acceptable document in support of age.

Selection Process

1. Selection will be done on the basis of the marks obtained by the candidates in the written examination (two hours duration) and meeting the notified eligibility criteria.

2. In case of a tie (two or more) of marks in the written examination, the date of birth (by age) will be considered (in that order only) to place the candidate in the merit list.

3. Based on the details presented in the online application, call letters will be issued to all the eligible candidates for the written examination.

4. For candidates applying for Apprenticeship at Guwahati Refinery, Barauni Refinery, Gujarat Refinery, Haldia Refinery, Panipat Refinery, Digboi Refinery, and Bongaigaon Refinery, the Written examination will be conducted in place of the concerned refinery unit. For candidates applying for Apprenticeship at Mathura Refinery and Paradip Refinery, the Written Test will be conducted at Delhi and Bhubaneswar respectively. The exact location details will be indicated in the admit card.

5. The written test will be conducted with multiple-choice questions of objective type, with four choices with one correct option.

6. A candidate has to score a minimum of 40% in the written examination to qualify in the selection process. The minimum qualifying marks for SC / ST / PWD categories candidates against reserved posts will be 35%. Achieving minimum qualifying marks in the written examination does not confer any right or claim by the candidate for document verification or the final selection, as based on the marks obtained in the written examination based on the rank of the candidate in the merit list. exam, Number of seats in the respective trade/discipline, candidates meet the notified eligibility criteria and documents for verification, which are found in order of verification.

7. Candidates belonging to PwBD categories, who have availed of concession in eligibility qualification marks or in Written Test qualifying marks, will be considered against reserved seats, irrespective of their position in select list (in order of merit within the category).

8. Filling of seats is entirely at the discretion of the management based on the suitability of the candidates and there will be no claim for engagement If some of these seats are not filled due to disqualification / insufficient number of candidates.

Pay Scale  

The rate of stipend payable to apprentices per month shall be as prescribed under the Apprentices Act, 1961/1973 / Apprentices Rules 1992 (as amended) and Corporation’s guidelines.

How to apply

1. Applications are invited by IndianOil for Apprenticeship at its Refineries at Guwahati, Digboi, Bongaigaon, Barauni (Bihar), Vadodara (Gujarat), Haldia (West Bengal), Mathura (UP), Panipat (Haryana) and Paradip (Odisha).

2. A candidate can apply for apprenticeship in any of the refinery units of his choice.

3. Option for exercising the choice of a Refinery unit has been provided in the application menu (on-line application portal).

4. The candidate must have an active email ID and mobile phone number which should be valid for at least the next year. All future communications with the candidates will be through website/email/ SMS alerts only. Only applications submitted through the online mode will be accepted.
